A late eighth or early ninth century Kashmiri scholar, considered to be the author of at least one of the two “bṛhaṭṭīkā” commentaries on the long Prajñāpāramitā sūtras. The spellings Daṃṣṭrasena and Daṃṣṭrāsena are both found, as well as several alternatives such as Daṃṣṭasena and Diṣṭasena.

Definition in this text:

Kashmiri scholar, probably of the eighth or ninth century, thought to be the author of the Long Commentary on the Hundred Thousand Line Prajñā­pāramitā (Toh 3807) and possibly of the Long Commentary on the Hundred Thousand, Twenty-Five Thousand, and Eighteen Thousand Line Prajñā­pāramitās (Toh 3808) as well.
